We see cover crop seeding by drone as a staple the future for agriculture. Drones can spread seed while crops are still in the field. This allows for a level of growth to be achieved by radishes, turnips, or other cover crop used before the primary crop is harvested. Pictured on the right is a soybean field that was seeded with radishes and turnips prior to harvest. As shown in the image, there will be adequate ground cover provided by the cover crop at the time of harvest. Not only does this mean the cover crop will be more effective, but it also opens opportunities for other uses of the cover crop such as forage for livestock.
*Pricing for cover crop seeding starts at $14 per acre (see pricing for more information)
(Approx. 3 minutes to complete)
Pictured are turnips and radishes spread as cover crop on soybeans 3 weeks before harvest (harvest occurred on October 18th). The picture is taken on December 1st.
